Developer Info

Rheebok Village Estate (Pty) Ltd is a real estate/property development company owned and directed by three directors: Hennie Pretorius, Stephan Spies and Danie Wiese. The company was formed, pursuant to a successful buy out of phases 7, 8, 9 and 10 from the previous developer of the Reebok township development.

Hennie commenced his articles of clerkship in 1979 with Edward Nathan Friedland Inc and was admitted as an attorney, notary and conveyancer in 1981 and was a partner in the firm until 1991. In 1992 he joined Bayerische Vereinsbank (Hypo Vereinsbank) in South Africa. He was one of the developers of the Arabella Golf Estate, including the Western Cape Spa Hotel and the Arabella Grand Hotel and was vice chairman of the Arabella Group in South Africa. By this time, he was also the chairman of the Blaauwklippen Wine Estate and actively involved in the upgrade and development of the facilities and vineyards.  Over an extended period of time, Hennie was also involved in real estate/property developments in Germany and the Netherlands.

Stephan has extensive business and corporate experience through his involvement with NASPERS. He was part of the senior management team for Africa, as well as the Managing Director of Lux Verbi – a Naspers affiliate. He has also established a number of IT and training-related companies as well as serving on the board of directors of several companies.  In addition to that, he also holds the position of Executive Chairman of Christian Media Publishing – a company that he established – as well as the position of Managing Director of CM Bibles.  Stephan has developed several residential property projects in South Africa, mainly in Wellington, Stellenbosch and Mossel Bay.

Danie is the current chairman of C’Est le Vie (Western Cape) and NVS Properties Western Cape. Over the past 20 years he has established companies/brands such as Octofin, TIS and Kirfane Investments.  He has extensive experience in marketing, having been closely involved in Sanlam marketing for a period of 30 years. During this time, he developed the very successful Sanlam ‘Blue Star’ distribution concept.  Danie has developed several commercial property projects, most notably Octo Place and the Ecclesia Buildings in Stellenbosch, as well as the Grootvlei Guestfarm (Lamberts Bay) and Octofin House (Somerset West).
